Daniel Evensen

Since 2001, Daniel has been fully dedicated to his work as a farrier, and in 2022, he entered into a collaboration with the equine clinic at NMBU (University of Veterinary Science in Oslo), alongside managing his own farrier practice, serving horses in and around Oslo!

In 2005, he actively began competing independently, and achieved remarkable victories and placements over the years!

To name some of them, he clinched the Norwegian Championship title not only  in 2014, but also in 2016, and again in 2019. He's also been proudly representing the Norwegian national team with an impressive five starts in Stoneleigh.

Besides competing extensively across Europe, he has also showcased his skills on competition grounds worldwide, including in the USA and Canada.

Daniel participated in the World Championships in Calgary in 2008, 2009, and 2013, as well as the "new" edition in Calgary/Spruce Meadows in 2023!

During 2015 and 2016, Daniel completed his AWCF in England, becoming part of a network of highly trained farriers.

A remarkable career summary brimming with exciting accomplishments, making us extremely honored to name him as a judge for the Open Danish Farrier Championship in 2024!

Michael Kukkonen

During his apprenticeship, Michael quickly became acquainted with farrier competitions and has since impressed with his skills both inside and outside the "ring".

As a competing farrier, Michael has garnered numerous impressive titles and classes over the years, both nationally and internationally. He has represented both the Danish national team and other composite teams. A common thread in his performances across all teams is that he is a highly valued team player who always delivers and excels in his craft! This dedication has earned him many championship titles.

At his forge, Michael regularly hosts courses, featuring external instructors, or himself in the role of instructor. Particularly the latter attracts many farriers who make the trip to his forge to have their work evaluated by Michael's discerning eye for the craft. It's precisely this eye for detail that makes Michael a sought-after candidate for judging competitions.

He has judged competitions both in Denmark, across Europe, and in the USA. And in 2024, he will once again be found on the other side of the Atlantic as a judge, but shhh - it's still a secret!

Henrik Rolin

Throughout his time as a farrier, Rolin has managed to bridge the gap between the profession's high quality requirements and the enormous differences in the horses' hooves. The many years of work with complicated and problematic hooves and the associated work have given him a rare insight into horses with problematic hooves.

He has managed to pass this knowledge on with pride and great enthusiasm to both apprentices, colleagues and veterinary students, and his overall knowledge of horses, as well as hippology is hard to match!

Henrik has a great love for the profession which clearly shines through in his craftsmanship, and based on his in-depth knowledge of the profession, Henrik developed his own line of tools, Henro Tools.

There's not a lot of people in the farrier world who hasn't heard of  Henrik Rolin, both in Denmark, but certainly also internationally, and he has been a driving force that has helped put the Danish farrier trade and education on the map.

We couldn't have asked for a better judge for speedforging in 2024!
