A True Danish Champion

Klaus Hansen is certainly no novice blacksmith in the world of competitions. In 2022, he claimed the title of Danish Champion, and in 2024, he could proudly call himself mentor to the Danish Apprentice Champion when his apprentice, Jon Banke, took home the victory and the top title!

Judging is also nothing new for Klaus, who has previously served as a judge at a competition in Cologne. A skilled blacksmith, mentor, and a strong addition to our very exciting panel of skilled judges!

Sergio Pérez

A Worldclass Farrier

Sergio Pérez Prieto is a skilled blacksmith who secured an impressive 10th place at the 2024 World Championships for farriers — a truly remarkable achievement that places him in a league that only a few can boast of!

In addition to being a dedicated competition farrier, Sergio is passionate about improving both his own skills and those of others, and so he collaborates in the training of farriers by teaching farrier clinics in countries such as Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, and Italy!

We’re keeping the judges for the 2025 speed forging competition a secret for now! - But don’t you worry; soon enough, we’ll reveal whose keen eyes will evaluate the skilled farriers work as they forge a shoe from scratch in the  thrilling and impressive forging discipline, Speed forging! In the first round, the farriers only have a mere 10 minutes to create a shoe from a single piece of metal, to a finished shoe, with nail holes and all!  —a top-tier experience worth seeing and cheering for!
